Rock ‘n Roll is one of those genre that never seems to grow old. As a matter of fact, many fanatics these days, seem to prefer the old artists a lot more. And why wouldn’t they? There are so many people who grew up with these beautiful songs, the attachment is inevitable.
One of the first names that comes up when reminiscing about old school artists, is Dire Straits. And once you mention a band like them, similar group names start cropping up. Bands like Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones and Deep Purple are only a few of the dearly beloveds. Songs like Stairway to Heaven or Smoke on the Water are some of the most popular, of their times. They have been passed down through generations of music-loving people and at times, some of the previously unpopular bands have become insanely famous among us. Then there are those, like Bowie and The Beatles who managed to retain the love of their audience, throughout decades. It’s insane to think of the fact that most of the songs they created turned out to be well-loved by their listeners. And now, we have new artists, creating new art for us, inspired by the likes of AC/DC, Guns n’ Roses and Nirvana. Like most good art works, they have lived through the changes brought on by time, loved for the meaningfulness of each note, the emotions behind the words.
Surprisingly, a few hundred words were enough to mention only a handful of artists. There are yet so many more out there among them, that writing about their works will take up page after page. So, a look through old records, a scroll down YouTube would be much more sensible to find the long-lost or evergreen bands out there.
